Die-hard fans of America’s brand of football revel in every opportunity to mock the dives taken by soccer players attempting to simulate a foul in order to get a call from the referee. NFL fans regularly cite such histrionics as the reason why the football played throughout the world will always be inferior to the football played in the United States.

Well, I wonder what all those folks will think of the dive taken by Bengals wide receiver during Cincinnati’s narrow win over the Browns.

With less than a minute remaining in the first half, Simspon tried to portray a slight push by Browns tight end Evan Moore as if he were hit by an 18-wheel truck.

Rather than throw a yellow penalty flag as Simpson was clearly hoping for, the referees should have shown him a yellow caution card.
