Spring season starts
My name is James Brown. I've taken over for Ryan Simpson as the person in charge of the Web site. I'll do my best to keep everyone up to date on what's going on.
For this week, we have the start of the group practices, which is the official start of the spring season. Thank you to everyone who registered their children for the Barren River Soccer Club 2008 season. We think it will be a great one.
Group practices begin Monday, March 10, on the new field at the Glasgow-Barren County Soccer Complex. We are approaching 140 kids in the league for our second season. The group practice schedule is as follows:
u8 (born after Aug. 1, 1999) Mondays, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
u10 (born between Aug. 1, 1997 and July 31, 1999) and u12 (born between Aug 1, 1995 and July 31, 1997) Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
u16 (born between Aug. 1, 1991 and July 31, 1995) Thursdays 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, March 15, there will be an evaluation day and draft for teams at the soccer complex. After that day, team practice times will be established.
On March 15, u8 evaluation will be at 10 a.m. The draft will immediately follow the evaluation period.
On March 15, the u10 evaluation will be at 11:30 a.m. with the draft to follow.
On March 15, the u14 evaluation will be at 1 p.m. with the draft to follow. The u16 draft will be at 2:30 p.m.
We would like to thank everyone who has volunteered to coach and perform other duties this year. Barren River Soccer Club is still in need of three coaches in the u8 division. Anyone interested in coaching should contact Bruce Leeson at ableeson@yahoo.com
